A dozen people have been rescued from a ferris wheel at York’s Wild Kingdom after it stopped working. Fire officials from York responded late yesterday afternoon when the ride malfunctioned. They used a ladder truck to climb as high as 30 feet to rescue children and adults from the ferris wheel. The state fire marshal is expected to be on site at the park today to try and determine what happened. York Beach Fire Chief David Bridges says that, as far as he knows, crews from his department have only had to respond to a similar call at the park once before.
