Appeal to be Filed Over Voter ID Law Repeal

Secretary of State Bill Gardner says the attorney generals office will file an appeal over a Strafford County Superior Court ruling that shot down the new voter identification law that opponents say will keep out of state students in the state from voting in New Hampshire elections. Judge John Lewis said that law did not pass constitutional muster and ordered the state to produce new voter registration forms before the November elections. House Speaker William O’Brian said that the judges ruling was a case of judicial activism and said the ruling would open the doors for voters to come to New Hampshire to vote because of it’s battle ground state status.
