Hampton American Legion to honor Fallen Veterans

Families of fallen veterans, along with state and local dignitaries will be at the American Legion Post 35 in Hampton this evening for the unveiling of new art on the new stones on the Global War on Terrorism Memorial Monument. The monument is engraved with names of all the veterans from the state of New Hampshire who lost their lives in the war on terrorism on and after Sept. 11, 2001. This year's guest speakers include Gov. John Lynch, who has attended and spoken at each observance since 2006. This is the first year the post has not had to add any new names and as a result, the Legion plans to mark the occasion by honoring each name already on the monument. The dedication will take place at 6 p.m. at the Hall on High St., in Hampton.
