A judge in the civil case of Cullen Mutrie has ordered both sides of the legal battle to return to court for further arguments. At issue in the case is Mutrie’s mother, Beverly, who has seen a civil case filed against her by the four officers who were wounded in the shootout that took the life of Greenland Police Chief Michael Maloney. They claim that Beverly Mutrie supported, facilitated, and assisted her son by protecting the long-term, well known criminal activities of her son at a home that Mrs Mutrie owns. Defense Attorney for Mrs Mutrie has countered, stating that she did not have a duty to report or prevent her sons criminal activities. Rockingham Superior Court Judge Kenneth McHugh has ordered an evidentiary hearing for December 19th, just days after more details of that shooting are set to be released.
