Strafford County Superior Court Judge John Lewis spent over two hours on Thursday during a hearing in Dover, where he considered challenges to his ruling last week that blocked the implementation of the new voter ID Law. Lewis also noted that he could reprimand Ed Mosca, the attorney for House Speaker Bill O’Brian, after Mosca insinuated that Lewis thought the legislature was a bunch of rubes who didn’t know what they were doing. Lewis took issue with that insinuation, saying that if Mosca felt that’s how the court felt about the House, that he would be reprimanded. Mosca did later apologize to the judge but that came after Mosca accussed Lewis of violating the separation of powers. Their arguments came the same day that attorneys had to file a series of arguments with the State Supreme Court over that appeal of SB 318.
