A new Religious Freedom caucus has been formed in New Hampshire comprising 27 Republican lawmakers who are aiming to cease government intervention into the rights of people of faith. The group is being led by Rochester state Rep. Warren Groen along with Groen’s brother, Sen. Fenton Groen, and Deputy House Speaker Pam Tucker, of Greenland. The New Hampshire group is part of a national initiative which will be unveiled today by the Ethics and Public Policy Center in Washington, D.C. According to the Ethics and Public Policy Center, those groups from the nine states being introduced today are concerned about a sharp increase in the number of new government mandates and anti-discrimination laws passed in the United States. They say many of those laws lack adequate protections for religious freedom and rights of conscience.
