The Portsmouth Christian Academy Junior High Softball team completed a perfect 9-0 season for back to back undefeated seasons and 20 straight wins.

 Seventh grade captain Ashley Vining pitched in every game going 6-0 as a starter with two saves.

The team was lead by 8th grade captain Amelia Sheedy, .824 batting average, Vining's .615 batting average, Emily Brashear, Belle Indelicato, Abby Turcotte and Lyndsey Longo were also offense leaders, while the defense was anchored by first baseman Cy Karnes, center fielder Taylor Mason and  second baseman Dani Brashear.  Sixth graders Kendra Leavitt and Madison Thyng both had successful pitching debuts and will be key pieces in next years team.

PCA's winning streak was on the line in a game against Cooperative Middle School's 8th grade team, trailing by a run in the 7th inning Hannah Daly reached on error, stole second and advanced to third on a pass ball walk to Taylor Mason, with one out Becky Heidt keyed the comeback with a ground out to score Daly and tie the game.

Then Taylor Mason scored the go ahead run on a wild pitch and Ashley Vining finished the complete game 5-4 victory by recording three outs in the bottom of the 7th stranding the tieing and winning run on base. The Eagles focus on pitching and exceptional defense to win the close games said head coach Mike Vining, while coaches Roman Karnes and Greg Brashear were pleased with the complete team effort to secure back to back undefeated seasons.
