Police in Rochester are continuing their search into who fired a BB-gun fired at the Walnut Grove Baptist Church this past weekend, breaking windows out of that historic church. Police Capt. Anthony Triano said that the vandalism occurred sometime between Saturday and Sunday and was discovered by a church goer on Sunday morning. Police believe someone with a BB gun or pellet gun "let loose on the side of the building," putting at least 20 holes in the siding of the church, and damaging two windows. One window had six panes shot out, and another was left with two panes with holes in them. If police are able to apprehend the perpetrator, they would face a criminal mischief charge, a Class B felony offense if the damage amounted to more than $1,500. If the amount of damage is $1,500 or less, the criminal mischief charge would be considered a misdemeanor.
