Elliot police say the Rollinsford man who raped and tried to strangle a former girlfriend at her home in Eliot on Wednesday is now in Police custody. Elliot Police Chief Ted Short says 31 year old Paul Olsen took off on a black and yellow Honda motorcycle registered in Maine after he broke into the victim’s home just before midnight on Tuesday, kept the woman in the home against her will, before leaving around 6 am Wednesday morning. That’s when the victim was able to call and report the crime. Police allege Olsen raped the woman several times, physically assaulted her, and attempted to strangle her. Olsen had been previously charged with domestic violence in an assault against the same victim in 2010. On Wednesday the victim was taken to York Hospital, where she was treated and released.
