Not only do we as Patriots fans need to root for Cincy (so that we can play the Bengals in round 2), I just think they're slightly better than the Texans, especially with the prospect of Jake "The Mistake" Delhomme coming in at some point for Houston. TJ Yates is serviceable, but one hit on that seperated left shoulder and it's helllloooooooooooooo Jake.
THE PICK: Bengals 20 Texans 14
Saturday 8PM Detroit (+10.5) @ New Orleans
Detroit is a year away from making any real noise in the playoffs, and New Orleans is playing out of their MINDS right now. This will probably be the highest scoring game of the week, but I like the Saints to cover the big number.
THE PICK: Saints 49 Detroit 35
Sunday 1PM Atlanta (+3) @ NY Giants
DO NOT be fooled by Atlanta's thrashing of Tampa Bay last week: Tampa quit playing 5 weeks ago, and ATL's best win was a 23-16 win at Detroit. The Giants might be inconsistent, but the Falcons are a FRAUD!
THE PICK: Giants 31 Falcons 17
Sunday 4:30 Pittsburgh (-8.5) @ Denver
Yes, Tebow is terrible. And just based on records, you would think Pittsburgh would stomp the Broncos. But we were saying all of these things last year when New Orleans was a 14 point favorite at 7-9 Seattle, and look how THAT turned out.
Big Ben says he tweaked his ankle again, S Ryan Clarke isn't playing due to problems with the altitude related to Sickle Cell Anemia, and the Steelers might be without their starting Center. I think the Steelers get by, but it's close.
