The Portsmouth Christian Academy junior high softball team is now 7-0 on the season with a 13-6 victory over Newmarket on Friday. The game was a tight 3-1 battle until PCA broke through with 10 late inning runs.

Ashley Vining was the winning pitcher going four innings and striking out 12 batters, Madison Thyng made her debut on the mound in the 5th inning allowing one run while recording two strikeouts, Cy Karnes and Dani Brashear finished the game off for the undefeated Eagles.

Vining helped her cause with a home run and scored three runs, Amelia Sheedy had a base hit raising her average to .786, while Kendra Leavitt and Hannah Daly added key singles.

Lyndsey Longo and Heather Chick stole two bases and scored runs during PCA's big inning solidifying the win.
