NH’s public health director says there is currently no systemic way to prevent a situation similar to the Hepatitis C outbreak at Exeter Hospital from happening. Speaking on WTSN’s Open Mic, Dr. Jose Montero says David Kwitowski should not have been working, but without regulations in place, it is impossible to prevent. Montero says last weekend’s screening for Hep C was postponed due to long lines for seniors, and complexities of using different tests. Montero also says that of the 3400 additional people being asked to get tested, he does not expect many to test positive for this particular strain of Hepatitis C.
