Kittery man charged in burglary

A 21-year old Kittery man, already facing federal extortion charges for demanding that a woman send him explicit photos has been charged with burglary. In April, Police investigated a burglary in Dover where a woman reported a lap top computer and some of her underwear had been stolen. In July, she told Police she had been e-mailed personal photographs from the stolen laptop and the sender demanded that she send him more such photographs. With the help of the US Secret Service, tracing the e-mails, John Villegas was identified as the sender of the e-mails, and was arrested on federal extortion charges July 17th. Villegas was arraigned yesterday in Dover Circuit Court immediately after his arrest yesterday and bail set at $2500 cash. He’s being held at the Strafford County House of Correction and faces a probable cause hearing August 16.
