At Tuesday night’s Berwick Town of Selectmen meeting, a discussion was held regarding understaffing at the Public Works Department. Currently the department only has two employees, making it difficult for the department to address issues in town. The Board discussed three possible options which include the hiring of one full time employee, the use of part time employees, or whether certain work could be outsourced. Selectman Robert Crichton said he would like the board to examine cost figures before a final decision is reached. The Board is scheduled to take up the issue at their next meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 4.
