The owners of a mobile home in Exeter are unable to return home after a fire did heavy damage to the structure on Thursday afternoon. Firefighters responded to a call on Cherry St. around 2:30 p.m. A neighbor who saw smoke pouring from the home called fire officials who were able to do a quick knockdown that according to Exeter Assistant Fire Chief Ken Berkenbush said. Although the fire is still under investigation, Berkenbush said they believe the fire started in the middle of the home. Crews from North Hampton and Newfields were among those joining three Exeter engines at were at the scene. No one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
