The New Hampshire Department of Transportation has announced that Squamscott Road in Stratham will be closed for five days to allow for the replacement of a culvert that conveys the tidal flow of Jewell Hill Brook. This closure to through traffic will begin Thursday, September 6 at 7am and will continue until Squamscott Road’s reopening on Monday, September 10 at 3:00 pm. Motorists seeking access to NH Route 33 will be detoured via Stratham Circle.
A 96-inch plastic pipe will replace the 66-inch corrugated metal culvert. Precast concrete headwalls and new beam guardrail are part of the $204,000 project. Pandelena Construction, of Hampstead, New Hampshire is the prime contractor.
