A driver headed the wrong-way on Interstate 95 North Monday night caused multiple crashes, including a head-on collision that sent one woman to the hospital. Police and fire received numerous reports about a driver traveling southbound in the northbound lanes at around 10pm. Near Exit 3, that car struck a vehicle causing it to roll over in the median. After striking a second vehicle, the driver continued northbound and collided head on with a third vehicle near Greenland. That car also rolled over in the median and the driver of that car had to be taken to Portsmouth Regional to be checked out. Eventually the wrong way vehicle came to rest in the breakdown lane on I-95. The driver was also taken to Portsmouth Regional where they were pronounced dead. Shortly after the third collision, two other vehicles hit debris in the roadway, but neither driver was injured.
