The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announced Tuesday construction work is beginning on a 2.8-mile stretch of the Spaulding Turnpike from Exit 1 in Newington, to Exit 5 in Dover. In addition to widening the turnpike, the $43 million project will include a new interchange at Exit 3 leading to Woodbury Avenue and includes a new bridge over the Spaulding, connecting to the Pease Tradeport. Southbound drivers can expect to see the speed limit reduced to 45 mph, just past the Dover tolls and continuing through Exit 1, towards I-95. NHDOT hopes to have that construction completed by July of 2015.
