Rochester rescue officials responded to a unique call on Wednesday when a pick-up truck towing a horse trailer failed to yield at the intersection of Highland street and Salmon Falls Road and was struck by another vehicle, causing the horse trailer to topple over with a fifteen year old horse inside. The horse, named Mozart, was trapped inside for about 2.5 hours and officials had to call the staff at the Myhre Equine Clinic to assistance on getting that horse out. The animal was sedated and it took 10 men to remove the horse from the trailer. Mozart was then transported to a veterinarian's clinic for X-rays as a precautionary measure. The driver of the horse trailer Jessica Lawler received a warning for failure to yield to traffic control devices and no other injuries were reported. Other than some cuts and bruises, Mozart the horse was fine.
