The Somersworth City Council meet last night and have decided to take unspent bond monies from completion of the new Idlehurst elementary school and use that money for a window replacement project at Somersworth High School, and any remaining funds would be used for asbestos tile removal projects district wide. The balance of that bond, which currently stands at $342,974, was originally appropriated for the purpose of constructing the elementary school. Also last night, the Council tabled a resolution over the completion of downtown improvement projects and replacement of HVAC units in city schools until the City Council's next meeting. Ward 5 Councilor Matthew Durkee officially announced his resignation from the City Council as his wife has accepted a job in Manchester and the two will be moving out of the area.
