Strafford County Commissioners have thrown their support behind a project to build a Veteran’s Home at the county complex facility. One year ago Air Force Veteran Jim Alty of Dover brought that idea of doing something for homeless veterans to county commissioners, who were supportive of that idea. The project would see the construction of 26 housing units for veterans who are struggling to find housing and jobs. Funding for that project would come from the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Housing and Urban Development through a grant. For the project to move forward, the project must go before 37 county delegates.
