Rochester Police Department responded to the area of Summer and Allen Street for single car motor vehicle accident involving the car crashing into a house this morning. As an Officer was turning around and attempting to pull the vehicle over for a motor vehicle violation, the vehicle sped up and drove away from the Officer. As the vehicle was driving away, it was going too fast to manipulate a turn, which resulted in the vehicle crashing into a house. The vehicle was heavily damaged and the driver was trapped inside until removed by emergency personnel. No one was home at the residence at the time of the crash.
The driver, Michael Stringer, did not have a valid driver’s license and was wanted for a Probation Violation. Stringer was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. After being treated and released a short while later, Stringer was arrested and charged with being a Fugitive from Justice, Disobeying an Officer, Reckless Operation, Taking Without Owner’s Consent, Operating Without a Valid License, and Possession of Drugs.
