Obama Visits Strawberry Banke

President Obama made his first post-convention campaign stop at Strawberry Banke in Portsmouth this past Friday, asking supporters to get out and knock on some doors for the Presidents re-elect campaign as he seeks a second four year term. The President’s speech focused on his vision for building America's future, asking the country to rally around a set of goals. Around 6,000 people attended the presidential visit as he was joined with First Lady Michelle Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, and Gov. John Lynch and his wife, Susan. Obama emphasized that the economy was losing 800,000 jobs a month when he took office, and that the country has experienced 30 months of job growth, however a grim jobs report from the Labor Department released just prior to his visit, indicated U.S. employers added only 96,000 jobs last month and that unemployment continued to hover over 8 percent.
