Farmington Women Charged with Animal Cruelty

Two women in Farmington have been arrested and charged with animal cruelty. 59 year old Shirley M. Patch was charged with 12 misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty, while 40 year old Caroline Wilkins was charged with one count. Both women were living at the same address on Chestnut Hill Road. In total, five horses, one miniature horse, one pony, two goats, two dogs and two chickens were found malnourished and were said to be in varying degrees of health, that according to Farmington Police Chief Kevin Willey. Chief Willey said he does not believe the alleged suspects intentionally meant to harm the animals but it seemed that they did not have the resources to care for them.
