For the second year in a row, America’s Promise Alliance has listed Dover as one of America’s Top 100 Communities for Young People. That award recognizes communities that perform outstanding and innovative work to improve the lives of children. Dover was chosen for its community youth programs including The Dover Coalition for Youth, a nonprofit organization that aims to prevent substance abuse, and raise community awareness. Dover was the only New Hampshire town to make the list of 100.  For making that list, Dover will receive a $2,500 grant to host a community celebration, which has not yet been scheduled. America’s Promise Alliance is the nation's largest partnership dedicated to helping the youths. It brings more than 400 national organizations together representing nonprofit groups, businesses, communities, educators and policymakers.
