The Portsmouth City Council is scheduled to take up parking issues when they gather tonight. Councilors will consider raising parking rates to $1.50 per hour on high occupancy streets and setting the rate for $1.00 per hour in other less busy streets. Those potential changes come just a few weeks after the council passed a parking omnibus that increased two hour time limits to three hours. The council will also consider adopting a resolution authorizing a bond up to $1.6 million for reconstruction of Commerce Way. Tonight’s meeting begins at 7pm at City Hall.
