A hair from a hat found at the scene of a crime in Rochester led to the arrest of a local man. Police say Jeremy Cook was indicted last month for burglary and theft by unauthorized taking as they allege that Cook broke out a window at the Seacoast Gun and Pawnshop and then stole three firearms. Police found that hat left at the scene and had a hair found inside tested for DNA which led them to Cook. Cook is known to the Rochester Police Department after he pleaded guilty to taking part in a riot in East Rochester in 2009. He is currently being held on $5,000 cash bail at the Strafford County House of Corrections. A preliminary pretrial conference has been set for October 24th.
