A Portsmouth man has been arrested for striking his baby sitter last Thursday when he went to a local apartment to pick up his children during a court ordered visitation. The baby sitter told police that 54 year old Thomas Lynch grabbed her wrist and pushed it away, striking one of the children and then later was poking her in the back. Lynch was arrested Friday on two counts of simple assault and a charge alleging breach of bail conditions, the result of his arrest back in June on two charges that allege he assaulted another woman that he knew. Lynch was arrested and then released after posting $2,000 cash bail. He will be back in Portsmouth Circuit Court on October 10th for a trial.
