Republican vice Presidential candidate Paul Ryan addressed a crowd of about 400 at the McConnell Center gymnasium during a town hall style meeting on Tuesday. Standing in front of an electronic National Debt scoreboard, Ryan talked about the nation’s debt crisis and also drew distinctions between President Obama’s plans and the Republican’s plans. Ryan also touched on social programs and said he and Mitt Romney believe in having a safety net for people, but not one that creates and promotes dependency and drains people of their potential to improve their lives.
