Governor John Lynch has proclaimed this Friday as Victoria Arlen Day in New Hampshire, to honor the Paralympic Champion. Arlen is a senior at Exter High school who recently won a gold medal and three silver medals in swimming events at the 2012 Paralympic Games in London. Gov. Lynch will issue that proclamation at Exeter High School on Friday to kick off Homecoming weekend. Her trip to the games was initially marred by claims by the London Paralympic Games over her classification. International news reports spread that Arlen might not be allowed to compete. However after her family presented a mountain of evidence about her disability, Arlen was classified at S6, the same level she competed in for U.S. Trials qualifying.
