The city of Portsmouth has released the price tag for President Obama’s September 7th visit to Strawberry Banke. Just over $30,000 was spent for extra police, fire and public works details and as previously reported, the city will bill the Obama Campaign for those services. A breakdown of the numbers shows that the police staff cost just over $15,000, fire personell cost just under $10,000, while the Department of Public Works bill came to about $4,700. The total came in at $30,002, that according to City Manager John Bohenko. Previously, the City Council voted 5-4 to bill the campaign, and would also bill Mitt Romney’s campaign should he visit the city before the November general election.
