S. Berwick Housing Project gets Green Light

The South Berwick Planning Board has given conditional approval for plans to build a 29 unit housing project on Young Street. The project being built by Avesta Partnership of Portland would provide housing for senior citizens and would be located near the city library and Central School. The conditions that must be met include prior approval on the parking lot lights by the planning board, providing temporary and permanent easements on site improvements, plus sight grading on handicap-accessible parking spaces. The projected cost to build that facility is $286,000 and work is expected to begin in the spring of 2013.
