Skyhaven Airport in Rochester will receive $3.49 million from the US Department of Transportation that will be used to rehabilitate its runway and also other operational improvements. The airport was looking to start making those improvements in 2014, but the new grant means they will start the rehab work this fall. Officials at Skyhaven say they also would like to install omnidirectional approach lights to better see the runway from the air.
