The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services naturalized 20 candidates for citizenship on Monday during a special naturalization ceremony at Portsmouth’s National Passport Center at Pease. The candidates came from 15 countries including Cameroon, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Indonesia, and the Philippines. On hand for the ceremony was Patrick F. Kennedy, Undersecretary of State for Management at the U.S. Department of State, Portsmouth Mayor Eric Spear, while the candidates also watched a video presentation featuring President Obama and former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. The day also marked the 20 years that the National Passport Center has been in operation
