The 21st annual New Hampshire Fire Service and Emergency Medical Services Awards were handed out yesterday and a dozen members of the Dover Fire Department received unit citations presented by Chief Richard Driscoll for their efforts that saved a Third Street resident during a structure fire in September 2011. Three members of the Rochester Fire Department, received awards for a water rescue of a teenager who had been stuck in a tree on the Isinglass River after attempting to cross the flooded river. Gov. John Lynch was on hand for the ceremony Gov. John Lynch offering his thanks to the first responders, stating that public safety has to be the top priority for both state and local government.
