The city of Yorks Community Development Director went before the Planning Board on Thursday evening to lay out violations in regards to the construction of the new police station. The four violations mentioned by Steve Burns included the clearing of the land prior to gaining approval from the Planning Board and violations at two sites where brush and stumps were stockpiled. Burns also noted that in the original plans a subdivision was to be created, but that was not included in the plan that the Planning Board approved. One notable exception was the fact that the city does not own a ½ acre of land needed to build the access road to the station. Burns says that that issue did not warrant a citation. The Planning Board is set to bring the issue up again at a meeting in October.
