The investigation continues into two fires on the same street in Dover on Friday night. Firefighters were already trying to contain a fire on New York Street, where a parked Jeep was fully engulfed in flames, when a report of a structure fire down the street at 34 New York Street came in about 6 minutes later. The multi-unit rental home, that had been vacant for a while, sustained heavy damage on its right side from the first to the third floor, that Dover firefighters say appears to have started on the outside of that building. The three-alarm fire drew response from fire departments from Rochester, Durham, Portsmouth, North Berwick, Somersworth, and Rollinsford. No injuries were reported and anyone who might have insight on the cause of that fire is being asked to contact police through the crimeline at 749-6000.
