Rochester Police recovered stolen items from a pickup truck that had crashed on North Main Street on Saturday evening. Police allege that Dale Carpenter was driving that pickup when it left the roadway and struck an SUV that was stopped in the entrance of the Globe Plaza, causing heavy damage to both vehicles. When officers arrived on scene, Carpenter had left his vehicle and took off into the nearby woods. Police brought out a K9 unit but were unable to locate Carpenter at that time, however they did discover stolen items in that truck and it was impounded. On Sunday, police apprehended Carpenter and he will face charges on theft and leaving the scene of an accident. The driver in the SUV that was struck by Carpenter, one Hasan Akisk, did receive minor injuries in that crash.
