The two Farmington women recently arrested on charges of animal cruelty were in court yesterday. 59 year old Shirley Patch was charged with 12 misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty, due to the 12 malnourished animals that were found on her property, while 40 year old Caroline Wilkins was charged for one count of animal cruelty for her treatment an older horse found at the same property. Both entered not guilty pleas on Tuesday in Rochester Circuit Court on those Class A misdemeanor charges. The judge ordered that the two women not be allowed to care for any additional animals and that the women not visit the animals that are currently in custody with the NHSPCA. Both women are out on their original bails and are due back in Rochester Circuit Court on Jan. 4th of next year.
