Eliot Police will be flashing the pink in the month of October to show their support of a comrade whose family is battling cancer. Eliot Lt. Robert Browns wife Lorene is currently recovering from a recent breast cancer surgery and that prompted fellow officer Candice Simeoni to start the Care to Wear Pink campaign that will see officers purchasing pink badges from their clothing allowance, with ten percent of the proceeds going to the Susan G Komen for the Cure Fund foundation. Lorene Brown said she is grateful of the Eliot officers involvement and plans to visit the department to thank all officers. She is said to be doing well following her surgery.
