Rochester Police were called to the Kohl’s at Rochester Crossing Monday night for a report of an explosive device in the building. When police arrived on scene, employees and customers had evacuated the store. The preliminary investigation revealed that the store had received a phone call around 5:30 that an explosive device was inside Kohl’s. The New Hampshire State Police Bomb Squad and the Rochester Police conducted a search of the store and did not locate an explosive device. The store was reopened shortly before 9, and the Police are still investigating the origin of the phone call. Police ask anyone with information that could help investigators to call the Rochester Crime Line at 335-6500.
