Fire fighters were called out to battle an early-morning fire that destroyed a New Durham home Wednesday morning. The three alarm call came in at around 2 am for that fire on Main Street that saw as many as 10 different area departments responding. Farmington Fire Chief Richard Fowler said crews did have some difficulties in fighting that fire, including getting access to water. Fire crews from New Durham, Farmington, Alton, Wolfeboro, Barnstead, Middleton, Rochester, Gilmanton and Wakefield had the fire under control by 4 am. The owner of the home, Peter Dudley did get out of that home safely with his dog in tow. The state fire marshal is now investigating.
