Conditional approval has been granted by the Portsmouth Planning Board for an amended site plan to build a 1,200 seat movie theatre at South Gate Plaza. Those conditions placed on the project by the board include installing traffic signals to help safety at the Plaza entrance, the Walmart entrance, and at the intersection of Lafayette road and Heritage Avenue. The approval will see a part of a building at the Plaza to be torn down to make room for the theatre. A group called Cinemagic will run that theatre.
