The father of a University of New Hampshire student who investigators say was killed by an acquaintance tearfully told students at a campus gathering Thursday to do three things; make friends as his daughter no longer can, take care of the University that she loved and, get in touch with their parents.
Bob Marriott was one of over 200 people who gathered to reflect on the life of 19-year-old Elizabeth "Lizzi" Marriott of Westborough, Mass. She disappeared Oct. 9 after attending an evening class at the Durham campus.
Seth Mazzaglia has been charged with second-degree murder. He is accused of strangling or suffocating her in his apartment the night she disappeared. The search for Marriotts body continued yesterday off Pierce Island yesterday. Assistant Attorney General Jane Young said three boats and an airplane provided by a Maine State Agency were involved in the search on Thursday, but have not yet found her body.
