The square-rigged replica of the 18th Century British Warship NMS Bounty, which sank in Hurricane Sandy, was a familiar sight in New Hampshire and Maine. The Bounty, that was originally built for the 1962 movie, Mutiny on the Bounty, had undergone maintenance at Boothbay Harbor Shipyard a number of times in the past decade. The search for the Bounty’s captain enters its fourth day today, but the ship that has made visits to Boothbay and Portsmouth harbors, has been lost.
