Dover City Council has voted unanimously to rename the new bridge over CochecoRiver in downtown for the late Tommy and Mary Makem. A large crowd turned out for the public hearing on the topic, showing their support for the change.
Tommy and Mary Makem contributed to the cultural diversity and history of the city of Dover. The bridge which connects Washington Street to River Street will be officially named “The Tommy and Mary Makem Memorial Bridge” on Friday.
